Dr Roger Munro has pleaded guilty in the District Court of Queensland to three counts of fraud under s408C of the Queensland Criminal Code. Dr Munro was charged following an investigation by ASIC and was due to face a three-week criminal trial.
Dr Munro received funds from investors for a trading fund which he referred to as the TradeStation Futures Trading Fund (TradeStation). Dr Munro did not invest these funds into TradeStation as promised. Instead, Dr Munro dishonestly applied those funds to his own use or the use of another. Investors were not aware that their money was being used by Dr Munro is this way and Dr Munro continued to make representations to investors that their money was being invested in TradeStation by falsely reporting on the profits and losses being made by TradeStation.

Case thrown out against cop accused of misusing computer

A Calen police officer has been cleared of accusations he used a restricted computer without consent.
Senior Constable James Ian Hoggs was stood down from active duty while an investigation was conducted over allegations of unprofessional conduct and unauthorised access of confidential information.
The alleged offence occurred at the Calen police station on June 6 last year.
He was subsequently charged under section 408E of the Queensland Criminal code, which relates to computer hacking and misuse.

A 23-year-old woman has been charged over an alleged sex slave operation in Brisbane.
Hannah Christina Stead, 23, appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today charged with conducting a business involving servitude under and conducting a business of unlawful prostitution under the Queensland Criminal Code.
Police allege her involvement was in 2019.

Her co-accused Matthew James Markcrow, 35, was charged with conducting a business involving servitude, conducting a business of unlawful prostitution and making recordings in breach of privacy.
Police allege women were tattooed, drugged and filmed.
Several women had tattoos saying "Property of Matt M".
