Amid the news, Rachel, who is the show's resident mathematician, took to Twitter to react to news of her new co-star.
In a post to her 669,200 followers, the star welcomed Anne as she referenced the anagram used to tease the newcomer's name.

Rachel Riley admits 'the bouncers thought I was too drunk' as she addresses bagel debate

In a tweet to her 669,300 followers, Rachel spoke of how she and her family use the historical spelling of bagel - beigel.
She also went on to talk of how the different spelling made bouncers think she was "too drunk" while out on a night out with friends.
Rachel explained: "I almost didn't get let into a bar on Brick Lane once, as I was so excited to show my friends 'beigel' written the way my family says it, as had been mocked for yonks."
She added: "The bouncers thought I was too drunk."

Rachel has since admitted she has no plans of leaving Countdown, adding she will stay "as long as they'll have me".
She told Express.co.uk: "Yeah I hope so, I love it, it's been over 11 years now and I'm still really enjoying it.
"Love the team and really love the numbers game and there's different contestants coming in all the time and different dictionary corner guests so it doesn't feel like you're working the same day over and over.
