Chicago area man among those missing in Florida condo building collapse
A Chicago area man is among those missing after the collapse of a Florida condominium building early Thursday morning, according to his daughter.
CHICAGO - Another person with Chicago ties was confirmed dead in the Surfside condominium collapse.
The body of Richard Augustine, 77, was recovered from the rubble on July 6 and identified by Miami-Dade Police on Sunday, July 11. I don t feel like it s gonna be a good outcome because I know where he was in the building, his daughter Debbie Hill had said. And I know how the building collapsed.

Death toll rises to 90 in Surfside condominium collapse
SURFSIDE, Fla. Search crews have discovered an additional four victims of the Surfside condominium collapse, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava announced Sunday, bringing the confirmed death toll from the June 24 catastrophe to 90 with a remaining list of 31 people feared lost under the rubble.
Sabino’s daughter, Stephanie McManus, flew to Florida from Seattle and joined with Sabino’s sister, Linda Berdeaux, and dozens of members of other families who gathered in this small beachside town for an agonizing wait.
When the fence of the nearby community tennis center became a makeshift memorial wall, photos of Sabino and Augustine were among those placed amidst the flowers and trinkets.
“MISSING,” it said beneath a picture with a familiar look for her platinum blonde hair, pink lipstick and a big smile. “Last seen in Unit 1210.”
On Wednesday, two weeks after the collapse, Elaine Sabino’s family members were given news that they both dreaded and, by this point, wanted.

SURFSIDE, Fla. It wouldn’t have been unusual if Elaine Sabino had been somewhere other than the top floor of Champlain Towers South in the early hours of that Thursday morning.
Sabino loved to travel. And in her 70s, she still was doing it for work and pleasure.
She was a flight attendant for Jet Blue. She had flown recently to San Francisco with her crew. When she returned to her home state she grew up in Jacksonville Beach she went back to Surfside and the condo unit where she lived with Richard Augustine, her friend and travel companion.
