North Melbourne remains in touch with the AFLW pace setters following a dominant 35-point win over Richmond at Punt Road Oval.
Key points:
They kept the Tigers goalless until the third quarter
Emma King impressed for the Kangaroos with two goals for the match
The Kangaroos set up the 10.7 (67) to 5.2 (32) victory in the first half as they ran amok while holding Richmond goalless, making it apparent this was a match between a premiership contender and a side that has now won only once in 12 AFLW appearances.

Harry Jerome will be honoured–again–in Vancouver – RCI

Last Updated: Thursday, February 25, 2021 15:09
Once upon a time–back in the early years of the turbulent 1960s–Harry Jerome was one of the most famous Canadians on the planet.
Jerome was “The World’s Fastest Human,” an unofficial title bestowed by pundits and sportswriters that went to the holder of the fastest time of the 100-metre dash.
Harry Jerome, No. 133, of Canada hits the tape to win the fourth heat of the men’s 100-metre dash quarterfinals at the Olympics in Rome, Aug 31,1960. Finishing second is Britain’s Peter Radford, left, and finishing third is Kenya’s S.S. Antao, right. Jerome, who with Armin Hary of Germany, was considered the co-favourite to win the 100-metres at the Games, had to pull out of the semifnals due to a hamstring injury, costing him a chance at a gold medal. Jackson Cup draw held despite pandemic

“It’s weird, but so typical of this season,” said Greco. “It at least allowed us to show our sponsors’ banners and give them something for supporting us through all this.”
The draw is usually held amid pomp and circumstance at the Strathcona Hotel, something not possible this year due to the health restrictions regarding gatherings. The VISL, however, still needs to be ready to go once sports games are again allowed in B.C., hence the impromptu garage draw. The brackets are set. The dates of the games will be added later. “We don’t even know when we’re going to play in 2021. But you can’t have a tournament unless you have a draw,” said Greco.
