texas might catch a little bit of a break. for once, the weather might help, not hinder them. a cold front could bring rain but the fire danger is expected to return tomorrow. sometimes still pictures tell the story better than moving pictures. we are showing you these pictures from two hours west of dallas. so far, 170 homes have been destroyed as new fires flare up and separate ones merge into giant blazes. parts of seven states have spent the morning under a tornado watch after a very rough night. severe weather has been blowing through the midwest and the south. you are looking at some of the storm damage from central ohio. one area near columbus reported winds near 100 miles per hour. wind, lightning and heavy rains slammed memphis, tennessee overnight. more than 50,000 customers lost power. farther up the river in st. louis, in the st. louis area, weather spotters reported tornadoes on the ground.
