The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) presented a list of nominations for the post of Myanmar s special envoy in the organisation to Tatmadaw (Myanmar military). ASEAN s Secretariat said the Chairman of its Foreign Ministers meeting Erywan bin Pehin Yusof and the bloc s Secretary-General Lim Jock Hoi visited Myanmar and met the country s senior officials late last week, including the military chief, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, reported NHK World. The Secretariat said they discussed the appointment and role of the ASEAN chair s special envoy to Myanmar, and presented the list of nominees proposed by the bloc s member countries for the position. ....

Four member team of UNHCR representatives led by one Kiri Attri External Relation Officer visited KiryaniTalab and adjoining areas of Bathindi in Jammu outskirts. The said team interacted with some of the Rohingyas and inquired about their wellbeing. Besides this, the representatives of UNHCR also met the chairman of one of the local NGO - Save the Children - located at KiryaniTalab, Bathindi. ....
Authorities here have sent 168 Rohingyas to jail after they were found living illegally in the city, officials said on Sunday. The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday had began a drive to collect biometric and other details of Rohingyas staying here. The drive is part of an exercise to trace foreigners living in the city without valid documents. At least 168 illegal immigrant Rohingyas have been sent to Hiranagar jail, a senior police officer told PTI. The verification process of Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar was carried out at the MAM Stadium here amid high security, the officials said, adding further verification of the foreigners is going on, they added. ....
