Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra surprises Qatar Airways passengers with inflight performance

Qatar Airways passengers on board flight QR279 from Doha to St. Petersburg were treated to an exclusive surprise performance by members of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, who were traveling to Russia for a unique concert in St. Petersburg, in celebration of the Qatar-Russia 2018 Year of Culture.
Members of the orchestra, equipped with trumpets, trombones, tubas and horns, delighted passengers on board the aircraft with a live performance of Qatar Airways’ original boarding music composed by local Qatari musician and songwriter, Dana Al Fardan.

Doha: Qatar Airways, the official airline sponsor; and Qatar Duty Free (QDF), the official retail sponsor of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2021, have congratulated the Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, winner of the annual men’s international tennis tournament held at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, Qatar.
Basilashvili earned his fourth Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour title after defeating the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut during a thrilling final match on March 13.

Doha: Qatar Airways, the Official Partner, has congratulated Al Sadd SC who overcame rivals Al Duhail in a competitive Qatar Cup 2021 final that featured the nation’s top two football powerhouses at the Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium on Friday.
The final concluded with Qatar Airways’ partner Al Sadd SC winning 2-0, and claiming their 8th win in the prestigious tournament. The Qatar Cup hosted the clash of the four best teams from the previous Qatar Stars League Season.

Qatar Airways has announced it is enhancing the travel experience with Thales AVANT IFE on its Boeing B787-8 Dreamliner.

Qatar Airways has been eager to replicate the innovative AVANT experience on their Boeing B787-8 aircraft without disrupting the utilisation of the fleet and minimising down time during the retrofit installation. To achieve this ambition, Thales has developed an upgrade program to adapt the existing legacy system to incorporate new AVANT screens and servers into the existing seats and aircraft infrastructure. This turnkey approach includes delivery of full seat modification, hardware and all required certifications, as well as the ability to leverage media integration commonality across the Qatar Airways’ fleet equipped with AVANT.

Qatar Airways Taps Thales for IFC Upgrade - Via Satellite -

Thales has won a new In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) deal with
Qatar Airways, one of the Middle East’s largest airlines. The company announced Tuesday that Qatar Airways will use its AVANT IFE system on Boeing B787-8 Dreamliners in its fleet. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Qatar Airways has decided to invest significantly to upgrade its In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) experience. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
This new system includes the latest High Definition (HD) capacitive touch screen technology and offers offers a large selection of features and applications with high capacity servers to store over a terabyte of media content. Business class passengers will have access to 17-inch full HD touch screens; the main cabin will feature 12-inch smart displays.

Doha: Qatar Airways has recently won two major awards for ‘Brilliance in Employee Engagement in HR’ and the Gold Award for ‘Best Social Media Campaign’ for its 2019 Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.
The airline has been rewarded for excellence in promoting breast cancer awareness while engaging thousands of employees and passengers in a 30-day program during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 2019, as well as for its influential social media campaign which shared inspirational and informative content with millions of Qatar Airways’ followers on social media platforms.

The partnership will see the Qatar Airways logo appear on Jabeur’s clothing at major tennis tournaments during 2021.
