Council contractors swept in on Tuesday night to install fencing in the city centre and cute down more than 100 trees while police with dogs patrolled outside. It has prompted a furious local backlash.

Now through June 30, any donation received for the Save Our Trees campaign, part of Friends of Winona Parks, will be doubled up to $24,000 by a Sustainable Urban Forest
