The chp reports, no big accidents in through the east bay, starting to build along northbound and southbound 880, down through the south bay, also noticing a little bit more traffic out along 87, and in through palo alto. You can see by the sign hanging out fire station one all fireworks are illegal here in the city limits. In an effort to try to crack down, the city recently enacted new laws and stiffer fines to stop people from setting off fireworks here in the south bay. The main concern over safety and the threat of fire. This was the scene last night up north in brentwood. Firefighters suspect this fire in the not far from the sunset athletics complex was fireworks related. It started as a grass fire that spread to palettes. Back here, the city has more new laws. Because of new laws code enforcers and park rangers can cite offend eer eroffenders. The fine is similar to a parking ticket.
