himself in at a county jail after his fourth criminal indictment. the situation in atlanta is changing by the minute ahead of donald trump's surrender there. the district attorney who prougt the case has just proposed a new trial date and it's right around the corner, just two months away in october. and some of trump's most high-profile co-defendants have agreed to their own bond and surrender terms. we are following these major legal developments. brianna? >> and we are also monitoring the scene at the fulton county jail, where trump will turn himself in. right now, there is a major police presence there. we're talking s.w.a.t. teams, fbi, security barriers, not to mention protesters and supporters. all of this ahead of trump's imminent arrival from new jersey. first, let's get you over to the courthouse with cnn's zachary cohen with the very latest on this. tell us, zach, first about the d.a.'s proposed start date, which is just around the corner.

tightening around this atlanta courthouse. starting today, a normally busy street in front of the courthouse is closed, as the fulton county da is milling indictments of the 2020 in election of interference probe. it could be coming at anytime. along with street closures, officials have set up security barriers outside of the courthouse, and the court is telling anyone with these court dates through august 18 to expect to make their appearance is virtually rather than in person. cnn's nick valencia is live outside the courthouse. i assume you are seeing a lot less than you normally would there, nick ? >> reporter: a lot more in some cases. these barricades when you're a couple weeks ago when we were outside reporting, let me get out of the way to show you these ramped up security preparations. these metal barricades, they are new as of today that shut down prior street, that street in front of the courthouse.
