PM Lee uses breathalyser Covid-19 test before Parliament session, says it's 'fast, simple & non-invasive'

A video posted on PM Lee's social media pages captured each stage of the two-minute long breathalyser test process on July 26.
First, he was briefed on how to use the handheld breathalyser by a worker in full protective gear.
He then blew into the breathalyser for around 10 seconds, before closing the tube.
The tube was then disinfected:

In a candid moment of the video, PM Lee could be heard confirming his result, asking: "So, negative?"
The staff then assured him that he was indeed Covid-19 negative.

कोरोना को लेकर तमाम देशों के साइंटिस्ट रिसर्च में लगे हुए हैं। समय पर इसका पता लगे और बेहतर इलाज मिल सके इसके लिए हर रोज कुछ नई चीजें ईजाद की जा रही हैं। अब एक कंपनी ने इसे लेकर ऐसा ब्रेथ एनालाइजर बनाया है जो किसी व्यक्ति की सांस चेक करके ही कोरोना पॉजिटिव या निगेटिव होने के बारे में बता देगा।
डच कंपनी ब्रेथोमैक्स का बनाया हुआ स्पिरोनोज सांस पर आधारित कोरोना टेस्ट है। मई में सिंगापुर की हेल्थ एजेंसी ने ब्रेथोमैक्स और सिल्वर फैक्ट्री टेक्नोलॉजी द्वारा बनाए गए दो सांस आधारित टेस्ट को प्रोविजनल ऑथराइजेशन दे दिया है।

ओहियो स्टेट यूनिवर्सिटी के रिसर्चर्स का कहना है कि उन्होंने अपने कोविड -19 ब्रेथ एनालाइजर की इमरजेंसी ऑथराइजेशन के लिए अमेरिकन फूड एंड ड्रग एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन में आवेदन दे दिया है।
इंग्लैंड में लाफबॉरो यूनिवर्सिटी के एक केमिस्ट पॉल थॉमस कहते हैं कि अब यह साफ हो गया है कि सांस से ही कोरोना के पॉजिटिव या निगेटिव होने का पता लगाया जा सकता है। यह साइंस फिक्शन नहीं सच है।
पेनलेस स्क्रीनिंग के लिए लंबे समय से चल रही

साइंटिस्ट लंबे समय से एक ऐसे पोर्टेबल डिवाइस की खोज में लगे थे जो किसी व्यक्ति की केवल सांस से बीमारी का पता लगा सके। इस तरह की स्क्रीनिंग पेनलेस भी हो, लेकिन इस सपने को पूरा करना एक चुनौती साबित हुई, क्योंकि अलग-अलग तरह की बीमारियों में भी सांस में हुए बदलाव एक जैसे ही हो सकते हैं।
डाइट भी सांस में होने वाले बदलाव को प्रभावित कर सकती है। जैसे कि धूम्रपान और शराब पीने वाले लोगों में सांस से बीमारी का पता लगाना मुश्किल हो सकता है। फिर भी साइंटिस्ट ने सेंसर टेक्नोलॉजी, मशीन लर्निंग और लगातार हो रही रिसर्च के माध्यम से कोरोना का पता लगाने के लिए ब्रेथ एनालाइजर तैयार कर लिया है।
सांस की बायोलॉजी
इंसान की सांस काफी ज्यादा कॉम्प्लेक्स होती है। जब भी हम सांस छोड़ते हैं, तो हम सैकड़ों गैस छोड़ते हैं जिन्हें वोलाटाइल ऑर्गेनिक कंपाउंड्स या V.O.C.s कहते हैं। ये सभी गैस सेलुलर मेटाबोलिज्म, डाइजेशन और सांस लेने से पैदा होती हैं। रोग इन प्रक्रियाओं को बाधित कर सकता है, जिसकी वजह से V.O.C.s में बदलाव हो सकते हैं।

पिछले कुछ साल में साइंटिस्ट ने लंग कैंसर, लिवर की बीमारी, ट्यूबरक्लोसिस, अस्थमा, पेट की बीमारी जैसी अन्य स्थितियों के लिए इस टेक्नोलॉजी का इस्तेमाल किया था।
जर्मनी और ब्रिटेन में हुई

पिछले साल से कई कंपनियों के रिसर्चर्स सांस के माध्यम से कोरोना का पता लगाने की कोशिश में लगे हुए हैं। 2020 में जर्मनी और ब्रिटेन के रिसर्चर्स ने सांस से जुड़ी किसी बीमारी के लक्षण दिखने वाले 98 लोगों के सांस के सैंपल लिए थे। इनमें से 31 लोगों को कोविड, बाकि सभी अस्थमा, बैक्टीरियल निमोनिया या दिल की बीमारियों से पीड़ित थे।
कोरोना मरीजों के ब्रीदिंग सैंपल में एल्डिहाइड लेवल
ज्यादा
कोविड -19 वाले लोगों के सांस के सैंपल में एल्डिहाइड का लेवल ज्यादा था। यह केमिकल तब रिलीज होता है जब टिशू या सेल्स सूजन की वजह से डैमेज हो जाती हैं। इससे रिसर्चर्स को पता चला कि यह डैमेज वायरस की वजह से हुआ था।
कोविड रोगियों में मेथनॉल लेवल
कम
कोविड रोगियों में मेथनॉल का लेवल कम था, जो इस बात का संकेत हो सकता है कि वायरस की वजह से गैस्ट्रोइंटेस्टाइनल सिस्टम में सूजन हो गई या वहां रहने वाले मेथनॉल-प्रोड्यूस करने वाले बैक्टीरिया को मार दिया गया।
स्पिरोनोज को लेकर 4,510 लोगों पर एक स्टडी की गई थी। डच रिसर्चर्स की एक टीम ने बताया कि डिवाइस ने कम से कम 98 प्रतिशत लोगों की सही पहचान की, जो कोरोना वायरस से संक्रमित थे। जबकि इनमें से कई लोगों में कोरोना का कोई लक्षण नहीं था। स्टडी में पाया गया कि स्पिरोनेज में फॉल्स पॉजिटिव के चांसेज ज्यादा हैं। इस वजह से यह डिवाइस लोगों को इस्तेमाल के लिए नहीं दी गई।
फॉल्स निगेटिव के बाद एम्स्टर्डम ने इस्तेमाल पर लगाई थी
रोक
कंपनी के रिसर्चर्स डी व्रीस का कहना है कि नीदरलैंड में कई जगह इस डिवाइस से टेस्टिंग हो रही है। मई में एम्स्टर्डम की पब्लिक हेल्थ अथॉरिटी ने 25 फॉल्स निगेटिव मिलने के बाद इसके इस्तेमाल पर रोक लगा दी थी। हालांकि बाद में पता चला कि टेस्ट करते वक्त इसका इस्तेमाल सही तरीके से नहीं किया गया था, जिसके बाद इसका इस्तेमाल फिर से शुरू कर दिया गया।
हालांकि इस डिवाइस को लेकर रिसर्चर्स का यह भी कहना है कि यह टेस्ट एक विकल्प की तरह ही इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है, इसे दूसरे टेस्ट करने के तरीकों से पूरी तरह रिप्लेस नहीं किया जा सकता है।
