Cate i first learned about history a few years ago. I was looking for another idea. My youngest brother sent me a short article on Robert Smalls. I was astounded to find i have never heard of this man. I have done a lot of writing for the New York Times. I worked for Smithsonian Magazine and read about the civil war for them and i had never heard of him. It was a little article that encapsulated his life and i wanted to know more.
