A Peru man was injured early Wednesday morning when he was struck by a vehicle south of town. Andrew Rose, 25, sustained life threatening injuries in the crash near the intersection of Broadway and Park Drive, Indiana State Police said in a news release. The initial investigation found that Stacy Haines, 39, also of Peru, was driving a 2004 Dodge Dakota pickup truck northbound on Broadway approaching that intersection. Rose was walking northbound along Broadway. âFor an undetermined reason, Rose crossed into the path of the Dodge and was struck by the truck,â the release said. He was initially taken to Dukes Memorial Hospital but was later flown to a Fort Wayne hospital, authorities said. ....
