There’s nothing left of Mimi’s Café at the corner of Pacific Avenue and Robinhood Drive after the longtime restaurant was demolished. According to the city's online permit database, two new commercial buildings are planned to take its place in the Stonecreek Village shopping center: One is Aspen Dental. Mimi's closed without notice in 2018, leaving customers confused and employees saddened, bewildered and wondering where they can find a new job.
Two new commercial buildings are planned to take the place of the former Mimi's Café on Pacific Avenue in the Stonecreek Village shopping center, according to the city's online permit database. A planning permit for the construction project was approved in April 2020 for the two buildings, which will be separated by a shared wall. Both planning and building permits indicate an Aspen Dental will move into one of the buildings. Aspen Dental's tenant improvement permit shows a permit status of "ready to issue." At the time, Mimi’s corporate office in Dallas sent FOX40 a short statement on the closure that said the "difficult decision" to close it Stockton location had been made to best position the company "for long-term success."
