Joke all the time when we are walking our dogs, and we see the fair lawn islands. I would look at them and say you know i could swim there and he absolutely hands down would agree. Kind of laughing. Nobody was laughing on may 11 when amy became the first person ever to successfully swim outbound from the Golden Gate Bridge to the islands. Do you realize what youve done . You know, it is just sinking in. Its unbelievable. I know its an incredibly difficult swim. But whats been more incredible is just the outreach and the inspiration that its achieved, and its doing for people. Thats what gives me the greatest pleasure. It took over 17 hours to complete the 29. 7 mile swim. Thats a lot of time for selfdoubt to creep in. And a stupid thought in your head to derail you from achieving your dreams. So i just entertained real silly thoughts to keep myself going. That is really what i had to do to overcome that. Reporter care to share ....
