Assault Weapons Ban Headed To Effingham County Court Tomorrow

A judge in Effingham County will be hearing a case on Friday against the state's new law banning assault weapons. Former IL Attorney General Candidate, Thomas DeVore filed the case on behalf of Accuracy Firearms LLC and 865 other defendants. DeVore argues the law violates the Illinois Constitution in multiple ways. Meanwhile, the first case against the bill was filed in Crawford County on January 13th. According to court records, the original judge assigned to the case has recused himself from the case. There is not a date or judge listed on that case at this time.
