Cowpens First Baptist Church members were saddened but remained optimistic Saturday after their church caught fire. Firefighters from multiple departments responded at 2:36 p.m. Saturday to 108 W. Church St., for a reported structure fire. When they arrived on the scene, the church was fully engulfed and billowing smoke from the second floor, fire officials said.
