The 2024 edition of Savoy JAZZFest, set to take place in March, promises an exceptional lineup of international jazz artists. The festival, now in its sixth year, will be headlined by Grammy-nominated singer Gretchen Parlato and the legendary saxophonist Kenny Garrett, alongside the rising star vocalist Michael Mayo. Kaisa Mäensivu, the artistic director, has curated a program that showcases the evolving boundaries of jazz.
Savoy Theater in Helsinki is set to host an array of international music stars in its Savoy WORLD concert series, showcasing diverse talent from three continents: Central America, Asia, and Europe. “Live Recordings 2019-2020” is the second release of tenor saxophonist Timo Lassy and drummer Teppo Mäkynen as a duo. The debut, aptly titled “Timo Lassy & Teppo Mäkynen”, a studio-based release from 2019, was a critical success.
