One is at Cross Walk Community church on first street in napa and also Napa County Fair Grounds has been taking people in there. There is also Finley Community center at near capacity. The fire expanded to west of highway 101. Weve talked about it jumping the highway, in the northeast santa rosa neighborhood near the kohls store at coffee lane and hopper avenue, the northernmost residential area in santa rosa, there are several structure fires there. Cross creek road, sky farm drive, st. Andrews drive, all residents north of Fountain Grove park way, montecito heights, those are all mandatory evacuation areas. Residents need to heed Evacuation Orders according to the city of santa rosa. Evacuation means you need to leave immediately. Please gather personal belongings, pets and go to the Findlay Community center at 2060 west College Avenue. That is a shelter that is set up for those people. Reporter im allen martin live in santa rosa at the journeys End Mobile Home Park in santa rosa where earlier today fire raced down that hill after it got into the big hilton hotel, jumped across the road, and got into this trailer park, and im telling you its just wiped it out. Destroyed it. 100 homes are gone. Behind me that twisted burned out metal, that was someones home. Next to it is a driveway, the burned out shell what was someones car. Next to that, another burned out home. Then a car, then a home, then a car. You get the idea. This goes on street after street after street. 100 homes destroyed as i said. Firefighters were able to save between 50 and 60 of the homes. Evacuate. Rescue crews have been trying to reach anybody trapped by the flames and this is what theyve been up against. In napa county the chp has rescued at least 44 people by air. Crews have also been going door to door, trying to make sure everybody got out okay. A curfew is in effect right now for parts of santa rosa, thats in effect until sunrise this morning. It appears to the area it applies to the areas highlighted in red there on your screen. Those are under mandatory evacuation orders. This is just one example of why the Santa Rosa Hilton hotel burned to the ground, just one of several businesses destroyed. Guests of the hotel had to evacuate. Most left their belongings behind, then consumed by the flames. And a number of people are still trying to locate their loved ones.
