[cheers and applause] a very special person today, this person is known for many things, hes been described as bold, handon, risktaking, and decisive, and indeed, these are qualities we would expect in our leadership. However, this person is no stranger to innovation. In fact, he served as the ceo, as the chairman of his own startup. Not bad, huh . All right. And this person also has a longstanding commitment to improving quality by diffusing best practices across the entire organization, and, in fact, we would not be here without his direct involvement and support. Now, you may be forgiven for thinking that im talking about myself. [laughter] and on a different day, i might, but today i am thrilled to be here, to introduce you to one of the leading and most influential leaders in health care, the 9th secretary of Veterans Affairs, lets give it up for dr. David shulkin. [applaus [applause] good morning, everybody. Good morning. I like the energy in the room and its really great to see
Okay, we are having a little trouble with evan lambert, this is ybor where the crowds were smaller than the last two nights and there are about 30 or so people who showed up but miami is a different story. Protestors blocked traffic on the mcarthur causeway and really for hours. And then in orlando, hundreds of people surrounded this lake, with and not my president. The protestors say they know they cant change the outcome but they are going to keep going until they feel like theyve gotten their point across. We know that protesting isnt going to get him out but we are going to give him a hard time about the poor choices and decisions he has made and the poor choices he is going to continue to make. To pay Police Officers for these protests and to keep people safe. The police do say that this is a use of their resources to come out and staff the protests and they hope that eventually they will fizzle out because of that. That is taxpayer money that goes toward that but we understand th

Government and nonprofits with Financial Research hosti held that position over five years and we focused on Financial Literacy throughout the country. I think what we are about to talk about this survey shows why this is important. Consumers play an Important Role in this economy. And if they make mistakes that arent in their best interests it has affects, certainly as we saw in the housing crisis. That office was set up a few years ago and it was an inspired move to set it up host so before we go too far when you say consumer literacy or Financial Literacy what are we talking about . Guest everything from preparing yourself for retirement, to getting a bank account if you dont have one. To managing basic things like a credit card, figuring out your mortgage, being able to budget. Basically doing what you and your family need to do to get by in todays economy. Theres so many choice todays than there were 30 or 40 years ago. We have a lot of abundance in credit cards, in mortgages. We
These firms feedback on their second round of submissions. And i think what we need to do is to give them a road map for where we see obstacles to orderly resolution under the Bankruptcy Code and to give them an opportunity to address those obstacles. I appreciate that youre doing that, but the statute, it seems to me, is pretty clear here. That its mandatory these plans be submitted each year and that each year you determine whether or not the plans are credible. And i guess the question im asking is, have they ever gotten to a plan that you can say with a straight face is credible . Well, ive understood this to be a process. These are extremely complex documents for these firms to produce. Our second round of submissions were looking at plans that run into tens of thousands of pages. And i i think what was intended is that this determination youre talking about, about whether or not theyre credible, do they the question is, do they facilitate an orderly resolution . And i think we ne
