Charged with violating his oath of office by abusing his powers and obstructing congress. There is no reason to believe he will be convicted and removed from office once the senate does its part and holds an impeachment trial. That trial will come early next year, a president ial Election Year, but we dont know exactly when or when the house will officially deliver the two articles of impeachment across the capitol to the senate. The democratic leadership will prepare for the possibility that the trial could start that second week of january. Theres several steps that need to happen before that were to take place, namely there needs to be some resolution to the standoff between Chuck Schumer and Mitch Mcconnell over what the trial will look like. What Chuck Schumer wants is witnesses. He wants documents agreed to upfront. Mitch mcconnell said those decisions should be made later and they should agree to the nuts and bolts of the trial initially. There needs to be a move by the house speaker. She needs to send over the articles to the senate. Shes saying they need managers to the case. She said she needs to understand how the senate will take care of that.
