My father worked in the garment industry. He eventually bought a small business, a factory, up there and worked very hard his whole life to support his family, my two sisters and me. My mother was a teacher for a while and an administrator in the government, in albany. So i kind of come from the middle bourgeoisie, people who are not very well connected or in anyway, i think, privileged, so i regard myself, almost, as kind of a working class girl, certainly as a yeoman class girl.
