getting around by foot is probably the best idea. folks who left their cars around town, they are got to get the shovel out and get to work in order to get to where they need to be. for the most part, this city shut down, kyra, and more snow coming in. we may approach a record right now top five in snowstorms but that's only part of this particular story as you've been talking about and reynolds and the rest of the gang have the other part. back to you. >> let's move on to reynolds. rob, thank you so much. reynolds is just about 300 miles south in st. louis where a blizzard warning is in effect for about four more hours. is that right, reynolds? absolutely. we really did luck out here in st. louis. we certainly had our share of winter-like precipitation and yesterday was freezing rain and then sleet and snow. about 2 to 4 inches of snowfall in western st. louis. the snowfall we have is dry stuff. you try to make a snowball, all
here in st. louis, the sun is um canning out, and in western st. louis, we are at the corner of maryland and euclid, cars coming through with no issues. the situation yesterday was bizarre. we started out with freezing rain, then sleet and then snow to the tune of 2 to 4 inches of snow. in terms of ice, there's a lot of it. it's all over the place. look at this icicle. mammoth thing. the trees are still coated with it. look at the branches here. cnn photojournalist john person is with us and showing us up and close and personal, ice everywhere. you get the point. some high on the power lines is going to cause issues later on today because we anticipate that even though the snow is going to go, the wind is expected to pick up, and a lot of power lines heavy with the ice, that is a major concern for a lot of people. there is a chance we could see power outages into the evening. that's the bad news.
