I also want to say since ive been working on this Childhood Obesity issue for more than a decade now, i want to thank all of the privatesector companies and ive listened backstage to trishs remarks, i have been to the middle east and to asia to participate with efforts against Public Health problems there and im very grateful that there are companies that at least are trying to work themselves out of part of their jobs, giving children a healthier future. The building. The incredibly sad part about this story, this was under renovation. It was a multimillion dollar renovation to make it into a boys and girls club. That money, 2. 5 million was volunteer nated from the venic family to make that happen. Part of the building was under construction. At this point we dont know what materials were inside. You have to imagine Construction Materials things like lumber, electrical equipment, all of those things likely fuelled the fire. Neighbors i here devastated by the loss for the kids in this neighborhood that would have coming here to this Recreation Center on a daily basis. Tennis, basketball, playing cards, hanging out with friends. Now they have to start from scratch. This entire building is a loss. It will have to be bulldozed to the ground. A burglary suspect tried to outrun the police. It happened a few hours ago near walnut avenue and guardino drive. Eric thomas is live with the details. Eric . Reporter police have done a good job of clearing and reopening this intersection which was shut down for 2 1 2 hours. Debris from cars was spread all over. The suspect landed here after the violent collision. This is how the chase ended, with the suspect in handcuffs in that apartment complex where police say he tried to hide and neighbors are trying to figure out what happened.
