World Average Temperature: World breaks average temperature record for early June as 2023 is likely to become hottest year ever
Global temperatures at the start of June were the warmest ever recorded, according to the European Union's climate change monitoring unit. The announcement came as the El Nino climate event arrived, sparking fears of extreme weather and rising temperatures. According to the Copernicus Climate Change Service, at the beginning of the month, temperatures were in excess of pre-industrial levels by more than 1.5C.
