People show support for Jill Biden, #MyTitleIsDr trends after column

Her name is Dr. Jill Biden.
Misogyny cannot diminish her accomplishments as a teacher, a mother, an advocate for military families and as Second Lady. Her work has inspired women of all ages and I’m confident she’ll continue to do so as our First Lady.
We’re with you.
The GOP is out here worried about @DrBiden calling herself ‘Doctor’ even though she has an earned doctorate from an accredited institution, yet they had no problem with @MELANIATRUMP LYING about having a degree in architecture from the Univ of Slovenia.#BenShapiro#DrJillBiden
To get my PhD, I did 13 years of post high school education. That’s a lot of years of cheap ramen noodles. 9 of those years I was raising my daughter. It takes hard work and sacrifice to earn the title. #DrJillBiden

An opinion column in
The
Wall Street Journal came under fire over the weekend for asking educator and incoming first lady Jill Biden — who holds two master's degrees and a doctorate in education — to stop using the title "Dr."
In the op-ed published Friday evening, writer Joseph Epstein, former editor of
The American Scholar magazine, urged Biden to drop the title, a message that public figures and women in academia panned on Twitter as misogynistic both in substance and tone.

Dr. Jill Biden Gets Twitter Support After Wall Street Journal Op-Ed – SheKnows

Let’s talk about that Wall Street Journal op-ed about Dr. Jill Biden, shall we? ICYMI, the piece, written by Joseph Epstein and titled, “Is There a Doctor in the White House? Not if You Need an M.D.,” went viral after its Friday publication, being called out on social media for the way it chided the incoming First Lady for using her hard-earned honorific. Epstein pushes for Dr. Biden, who earned her doctorate in education, to drop the “Dr.” in an op-ed that was patronizing from the get-go: Epstein addresses Dr. Biden as “Madame First Lady—Mrs. Biden—Jill—kiddo,” before imploring, “Any chance you might drop the “Dr.” before your name? “Dr. Jill Biden” sounds and feels fraudulent, not to say a touch comic.”
