Donald Younce of Commerce Township took his Marine experience into civilian life and worked as a self-employed deep-sea diver. Younce, 85, died at home Jan. 27 as a result of complications from COVID-19. He was a proud U.S. Marine, 3rd Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Squad, as part of the Underwater Demolition Team. Younce worked as a deep-sea diver along the coast of California before returning to Michigan to marry the love of his life, Judie (Cornett). They were married 48 years. ....
