A land-management gambit that could benefit Alaska

In late March, Gov. Mike Dunleavy threw down a rhetorical gauntlet, announcing that after more than 60 years of statehood, Alaska is exercising its right to manage all navigable waterways in the state including those that flow through federal land. It’s a gambit that’s backed by recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings, and although its impact for ordinary Alaskans is mostly symbolic, it may wake federal authorities up to unfulfilled promises made to the state decades ago.
The assertion that Alaska can manage all navigable waterways in the state, as well as the lands underneath them, has its roots in recent Supreme Court case law in particular, the John Sturgeon case. The court’s unanimous 2019 ruling established that the state has those management rights even for rivers that pass through federal lands. RIYADH The Music Authority, an affiliate of the Ministry of Culture, launched a virtual training program for the music industry, on March 30, 2021, which includes education and training in a number of music specializations for Saudi talents, providing them with the necessary cognitive skills, and creating new music career paths in the Kingdom.
Registration in the program began on March 30 and continues until June 20, 2021, via the electronic link: https://engage.moc.gov.sa/sanaa/.
At the start, the program will target 500 beneficiaries, and by 2030, demand is expected to exceed 29,000, which confirms that the market is promising and opportunities are ripe for developing the sector, the CEO of the Music Authority, Mohammed Bin Abdull ....

SHEFFIELD, Ala. (WAFF) - Improvements to Sheffield Housing authority are well underway.
The front office renovation at Manning Homes will serve as a prototype of what the other homes will look like once the renovation is complete.
Sheffield Housing Authority Executive Director Shirley Whitten said just within the first year, 10 homes here at Manning Homes will be renovated, along with homes at Long Lowe, which is another housing complex.
She said that Sheffield housing authority was chosen by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to participate in a new program called “Moving to Work.” ....

Man charged after leading authorities on pursuit through Yellowstone County

Court documents outline the series of events that led to the identification and apprehension of three suspects potentially involved in the shooting of an unoccupied vehicle earlier this week.Â
Shay Austin Dontmix is charged with one count of felony criminal endangerment and one misdemeanor count from fleeing or eluding a peace officer.
Court documents state that on March 30 Yellowstone County Sheriff s Office (YCSO) Deputy Sennett grew suspicious of a white pickup at the Motel 6 in Billings. He said the driver of the pickup blocked the parking lot, then drove through it in a roundabout manner. The driver, later identified as Dontmix, was reported to pick up a black backpack from the parking lot and put something in it. A passenger of the pickup was also identified as Keyonna Hogan. Deputy Sennett said he observed that Dontmix would not exit the parking lot in his pickup until Deputy Sennett left.Â ....
