Tennessee Attorney General Slatery Sues Google; Alleges Violation Of Antitrust Law

Attorney General Herbert H. Slatery III, along with a coalition of 37 attorneys general, has filed a lawsuit against Google in California.  The suit alleges exclusionary conduct relating to the Google Play Store for Android mobile devices and Google Play Billing. 
 
AG Slatery said, This antitrust lawsuit is the latest of many legal actions asserting that the tech giant uses illegal, anticompetitive, and unfair business practices.  The states accuse Google of using its dominance to unfairly restrict competition with the Google Play Store, conduct that harms consumers by limiting choice and driving up app prices.   ....

DENVER – Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser today joined a coalition of attorneys general from 36 states and the District of Columbia to file a lawsuit against Google in federal court.
The suit alleges exclusionary conduct relating to the Google Play Store for Android mobile devices and Google Billing. This antitrust lawsuit is the newest legal action against the tech giant, outlining a pattern of illegal, anti-competitive, and unfair business practices.
U.S. consumers spend more time using mobile devices than desktop or laptop computers, and they spend more than $32 billion a year purchasing apps and content within apps. Epic Games files anti-competition claim against Google in Australia

Epic Games has filed a legal claim against Google with the Federal Court of Australia, alleging Google’s anti-competitive conduct is in breach of Australian Consumer Law and “various sections” of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
The legal claim is in response to Google pulling 
Fortnite from the Google Play Store after Epic Games established a direct system of payment that bypassed Google’s Android application storefront and follows similar legal action by Epic Games against Apple and its iOS Apple App Store alongside legal action taken in the United States of America.
The claim was filed earlier this week and alleges that “Google’s conduct has hindered or prevented, and continues to hinder and prevent, Epic and other app developers and in-app content payment providers from competing or effectively competing in the Android App Distribution Market and the Android In-App Payment Processing Market, including in Australia. ....
