Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler’s campaign is distancing her from a photo of her posing with a former Ku Klux Klan leader, insisting the interaction was unwitting.
Loeffler, 50, is seen in the image wearing an American flag hat and standing next to Chester Doles, who formerly led a major KKK faction in Maryland, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

ATLANTA The campaign of Georgia Republican U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler is condemning a photo circulating on social media of her posing with a longtime white supremacist at a recent campaign event, with less than a month to go until the runoff elections that will determine the balance of the U.S. Senate.
Loeffler did not know who Chester Doles was when she took a picture with him, her campaign spokesman Stephen Lawson said in a statement to The Associated Press on Sunday. The picture was taken Friday at a campaign event in Dawsonville, Georgia. ....

Kelly Loeffler s campaign has insisted that she had no idea who ex Ku Klux Klan leader Chester Doles was when she posed for a photo with him at a recent event.
A photo taken on Friday at a campaign event in Dawsonville, Georgia has been circulating on social media of her posing with the longtime white supremacist - leading to an outcry from activists.
It comes less than a month to go until the runoff elections that will determine the balance of the U.S. Senate.

Senator Kelly Loeffler Issues Statement After Taking Picture With Neo-Nazi

Kelly Loeffler has issued a statement after taking a picture with a Neo-Nazi. On Friday, Loeffler posed for a photo with
Chester Doles, a well known white supremacist in the southeast. However, members of the Loeffler campaign said that she did not know of Doles background prior to taking the photo.
“Kelly had no idea who that was, and if she had she would have kicked him out immediately because we condemn in the most vociferous terms everything that he stands for,” campaign spokesman Stephen Lawson said.
Doles has a well-documented past as a bigot and racist. He is a former member of the Ku Klux Klan and the Neo-Nazi National Alliance. Furthermore, he was associated with a skinhead group called the Hammerskins and participated in 2017 s Unite The Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. Not to mention, he was convicted in 1993 for beating a Black man. ....
