“This will be our floral design location for weddings,” said
Natalie Weaver, who opened the first Sonny Bea’s in Nov. 2019 in the Oxford Square Shopping Center. “We want to expand our bridal options.”

GAPS navigates reopening

Greater Albany Public Schools students are still scheduled to begin returning to in-person instruction on March 29 but nothing will look the same as it used to and time at schools will still be limited. 
On Monday, Assistant Superintendent Lisa Harlan updated the school board on the district s plan to begin phasing students back into classrooms but noted state requirements will still limit the school day.
Currently, about 350 GAPS students are receiving instruction under limited in-person instruction. That instruction will stop on March 16 to give the transportation department two weeks to map out new routes for when hybrid learning begins.  ....

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed teachers to get vaccine shots as Bangladesh plans to reopen educational institutions anytime soon with the nationwide inoculation drive underway.

State Minister of Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossain announced the development after taking a vaccine shot at the Secretariat clinic in Dhaka on Tuesday.
“[The prime minister] called me up yesterday and said, ‘Give vaccines to all teachers. We will reopen schools anytime soon. Make sure that all teachers are vaccinated’,” Zakir said.
On when the teachers and education officials would receive the doses, he said, “The prime minister has already instructed the health ministry to vaccinate the teachers. We will do this anytime.” ....

I have to disagree with the opinion on language and the medium of instruction expressed by M Zeb Khan (‘Talking Language’, The News, January 28, 2020). The writer has identified the key issue but then let his attention deviate from the main point.
The writer begins with a very important issue that needs attention and bears reiterating: “Like many other unresolved perennial issues in Pakistan, the question of which language to use as medium of instruction during the formative years of school-going kids remains unpacked and hence unaddressed.”
However, instead of remaining focused on the child and assessing the impact of the use of different languages as mediums of instruction on his or her learning, the article ventures into the entirely unrelated adult domains of culture, politics, and political uses of language. ....
