Alameda robbery caught in progress, and on camera, linked to other East Bay incidents


ALAMEDA, Calif. (KGO) Another frightening daytime robbery caught on camera in Alameda is being linked to other incidents in the Bay Area.
The man in the blue shirt did not want to be identified, but tells ABC7 News anchor Dion Lim he noticed his friend s white sedan getting broken into around noon on Tuesday at the Vietnam House parking lot in Alameda.
In the video, you can see the suspect reaches into the car and pulls out a gray-colored bank deposit bag.
The man and the owner of the car then rush in to try and stop the suspect before he can get away, even attempting to close the car door on him. ....

NEW YORK A California man disgruntled about the presidential election result was arrested Tuesday on charges alleging he threatened family members of a New York congressman and a journalist in text messages sent during the attack on the Capitol, authorities said.
Robert Lemke, 35, was arrested in Bay Point, California, on charges filed in Manhattan federal court. He was scheduled to make an initial appearance in federal court in Northern California on Wednesday.
A criminal complaint charging him with threatening interstate communications said he identifies himself on Facebook as a former captain in the U.S. Air Force and a retired sergeant with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office in California. ....

A Bay Point man, upset over President Biden’s win, was arrested Tuesday after he threatened to hurt relatives of a member of Congress and a family member of a journalist, according to federal authorities.
Robert Lemke, 35, is accused of sending threatening text messages on Jan. 6, the day a mob loyal to former President Donald Trump took over the U.S. Capitol, to family members of the congressional representative and a relative of the journalist. The criminal complaint filed in Manhattan federal court does not name the individuals whose relatives were targeted, but the New York Times reported they were Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., and ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos. ....
