Edward S. Krause
Edward S. Krause, 67, of North East passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was born on July 14, 1953, in Ventura, Calif., the son of the late Willis C. and Gertrude (Bielo) Krause.
Ed graduated from Ripley Central School in 1971 and was a gifted mechanic. Over the years, he worked for The Electric Materials Company (TEMCO) and as service manager for Cunningham’s of North East and North East Motors. He also worked for Stars & Bars Aircraft, Huntington, IN restoring vintage aircraft, specifically T-6 aircraft, used during WWII for pilot training. Ed was a private pilot and well-known among the local aircraft community. He was a sought-after aircraft mechanic and builder, and repaired and rebuilt many experimental airplanes. ....
