Parenting, it seems, has become more difficult with all of the additional demands on our time. Most of the companies we work for pride themselves are taking up as much of our time as they can. They say they don't want to, but they do. This means that more working parents are trying to find new and creative ways to spend time with their kids, and even grandkids than they ever have before. Thanks to FaceTime, he did just that.

When it comes to the latter, nurses are often the medical professionals that spend the most time with patients; delivering and making sure medications are being taken, checking vital signs, and doing what they can to make sure their patients are as comfortable as possible during their hospital stay.

As the coronavirus pandemic lingers, surveys and medical data continue to confirm the presence of another epidemic — mental health challenges. The trauma persists into 2021, and folks continue to reach out for help. Experts hope that a good number of individuals triggered by the COVID-19 crisis will be able to get back on solid mental ground in a reasonable amount of time after it subsides. "The burden of COVID-19 in New Jersey cannot be measured solely by confirmed cases and lives lost," said Cathy Bennett, president and CEO of the New Jersey Hospital Association. "It's important that we also understand the invisible toll of COVID — the mental health impacts brought on by fear, loss, isolation and, for many families and frontliners, the emotional trauma of this pandemic year."
No hospital in New Jersey received a failing grade in the latest round of safety scoring released by The Leapfrog Group. But more than a dozen facilities fell short of an A or B grade. In the spring 2021 report released Thursday, 26 of New Jersey's 68 acute-care hospitals (38%) received an A for their ability to protect patients from avoidable infections, injuries and errors. Another 38% received a B from Leapfrog, a nonprofit watchdog organization representing health care consumers and purchasers. Ten hospitals improved upon their grade from fall 2020, and four hospitals moved down a grade. Based on the percentage of "A" grade hospitals, New Jersey moved from 17th to 14th in the nation. Saint Barnabas Medical Center, located in Livingston, is one of just 27 hospitals in the country to have achieved straight A grades since Leapfrog began grading in 2012.

Fully Vaccinated Hug Parties Are Trending And I Want Invited One of the things I missed the most, during the pandemic, was hugging. Everybody knows that I'm a hugger. If you are my good friend, someone I've known forever, or even someone I have just met for the first time, I WILL hug you. Well, that is, before COVID-19 took over our lives and kept us apart for over a year. It just makes me feel good to hug. Even though some people (all my radio husbands: Jon, Dave, and Ryan) act like they don't like my hugs, I always hug them anyway. When social distancing became a new norm, it hurt my heart. Since I use hugging as a greeting, I felt awkward and weird just standing there not knowing what to do. What was really hard was not hugging my dad, my two older kids, my granddaughter to close family and friends. It was so hard.
