Supreme Court rejects Grace Millane's murderer's appeal

The graduate of England’s University of Lincoln died some time between December 1 and 2, 2018, after she went on a Tinder date with the man in Auckland s CBD.
The Crown, at trial, said Kempson strangled Grace Millane for a prolonged period. He then took intimate photos of her naked body and searched degrading pornography on his phone.
On December 3, he buried her body in the Waitākere Ranges.
Kempson denied murder and claimed her death was a tragic accident after the pair had consensual rough sex.

This is the chilling moment British backpacker Grace Millane s killer smuggled a suitcase containing her naked body out of his apartment.
Jesse Shane Kempson was captured on CCTV wheeling the suitcase out of the Auckland hotel he resided to a hire car after strangling Grace to death.
The suitcase containing Grace, a 21-year-old graduate from Essex, was later found buried in mud and leaves in a forested area outside the New Zealand city.
The footage shows Kempson, 28, taking an empty luggage trolley in the lift to his third-floor room at Auckland s CityLife hotel.
Minutes later he wheeled it back to the elevator laden with two suitcases, one of which he later confirmed to detectives contained Grace s lifeless body, squeezed in by forcing her into a foetal position. ....

The man found guilty of murdering British backpackerÂ Grace MillaneÂ has lost hisÂ appeal against his conviction and prison sentenceÂ â but he still can t be named.
The 28-year-old, who now has name suppression until further court order, wasÂ sentenced to life in prisonÂ with a minimum non-parole period of 17 years for the murder of Grace, 21, who was from Essex in the UK.
