Operation Support Our Troops-America to host Over the Edge fundraiser Sept. 11 at Hotel Arista

Operation Support Our Troops-America, a Naperville-based nonprofit, has announced their upcoming fundraiser, Over the Edge.
According to Executive Director Scott Maxson, Over the Edge is an exciting way to come together as a community, bring awareness to our mission and raise funds to continue to support those who sacrifice so much for our freedom. On Sept. 11, Operation Support Our Troops -America, will bring this exciting event to the Hotel Arista in Naperville. Partnering with Over the Edge Global, OSOT-America and its participants will be rappelling down the side of the hotel to raise funds and awareness for our mission.

Along with rappelling there will be food, music, interactive displays and in general a day to honor our military and their families. Proceeds allow Operation Support Our Troops-America to continue serving more veterans and military families through the active duty, veteran and Families of the Fallen programs. ....

The KC Air Show announced a surprise addition to the already world-class lineup for this weekendâs show.The KC Air Show said on Monday that the Air Force Thunderbirds will be joining the Navy Blue Angels in a âtruly once-in-a-lifetime show this 4th of July weekend.ââThis is an incredibly rare opportunity to see both of these elite aerobatic teams fly at the same civilian air show and the first time ever this has happened in the Kansas City metro area,â the KC Air Show said in a news release.âThis last-minute addition will allow the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels to be seen together in a one-time civilian-produced air show that is normally not possible,â KC Air Show Director Kerry Floyd said in the release.With the Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and the Marines AV-8Bâs also appearing in the KC Air show organizers say this will truly be a historic celebrat ....

Apr. 30 Two of the most recognized faces in local television and two of the biggest stars in the ABC11 lineup are leaving the station.
ABC11 announced Thursday during its 6 p.m. newscast that lead co-anchor Tisha Powell and chief meteorologist Chris Hohmann are both departing the Disney-owned-and-operated station.
Both Powell and Hohmann are a big part of WTVD s local brand, among the first faces viewers expect to see when major news or serious weather hits the state.
Hohmann, who has been at WTVD for nearly 30 years, is retiring. His last day at the station is May 28. ABC11 plans to celebrate Hohmann and his career throughout the month of May, culminating with a special send-off on May 28. ....
