Modern Love was put together by Drew McFadden, the music exec and DJ, and Peter Adarkwah, founder of BBE Music, with the express purpose of showcasing Bowie’s forays into R&B, funk, gospel, soul and jazz. The liner notes describe the project as an “interactive sonic map” where 17 artists delve into some of Bowie’s lesser-known material.

We Are KING have shared a cosmic cover of David Bowie‘s ‘Space Oddity’ – listen to it below.
Returning after a hiatus of almost five years, identical twin sisters Amber and Paris Strother paid tribute to Bowie on Friday (January 8) which would have been his 74th birthday. Today (January 10) marks the fifth anniversary of the legendary rock star’s death.
Taken from the forthcoming Bowie tribute album, ‘Modern Love’, We Are KING said ‘Space Oddity’ has always been their favourite composition because it’s “so visual” and “has always felt like time travel in a song”. ....

There were so many amazing Bowie compositions to choose from but Space Oddity has always been our favourite, Amber and Paris Strother of We Are KING said in the release. It s so visual; it has always felt like time travel in a song. It tells such a vivid and imaginative story of Major Tom s trip through space and it was such a cool experience to reimagine what it d be like on the voyage. ....

Thanks to tiebreaking votes by Batavia Mayor Jeff Schielke, the controversial $48 million One Washington Place project lives to see an other day.
But don t expect construction soon. As of Monday, developer Shodeen Group hasn t created construction documents or applied for a building permit for the six-story project with 186 apartments, a 350-space parking garage and several stores. ....
