ERIE, Pa., April 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Penelec, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE), continues to conduct tree trimming work in communities across its Pennsylvania service areas as part of its ongoing efforts to help enhance electric service reliability.
Maintaining proper clearances around electrical equipment can help reduce the frequency and duration of tree-related power outages, especially those associated with severe weather such as spring and summer thunderstorms.
Since the beginning of the year, tree contractors have trimmed along about 1,000 miles of distribution and transmission lines in the Penelec area as part of the company s $39.4 million vegetation management program for 2021. MANSFIELD When the proposed integration of Mansfield University and two other area schools is completed, opportunities for students should expand without the loss of what makes each institution unique, according to Dr. Charles Patterson, Mansfield’s president.
“University integration is meant to provide additional opportunities for Mansfield students to earn a degree or credential,” Patterson stated
Noting that 75 percent of the enrollment comes from eight or nine different disciplines that are available at all three campuses, Patterson said, “Because these areas account for the majority of our current combined undergraduate enrollment and these programs will remain accessible and available to students at all three campuses.” ....

Scholarships offered
The Fayette County Conservation District is offering four $1,500 scholarships to students from Fayette County for the 2021-22 academic year. Two will be awarded to students enrolled in an agriculture-related major or program, and two will be awarded to students enrolled in an environmental science-related major or program.

This question, prompted by Dr. Joe Stahlman a Tuscarora man who serves as director of the Seneca Nation Tribal Historical Preservation Office, the Seneca Iroquois National Museum and the Onöhsagwë:de Cultural Center refers to the ongoing issue Native Americans face of having to constantly remind others they are not mascots or peoples of the past.
Stahlman has been fighting against that idea since he was 18, a 30-year battle to be seen as a living, breathing human belonging to a culture that still exists. ....
