The Kiwis triumphed in the men s eight, women s single as well as women s pair, plus silver in the women s eight and women s double, to top the medals table. As for the win in the men s eight, it was New Zealand s first gold in the event since the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. New Zealand s Emma Twigg won her first Olympic gold medal by clocking a new Olympic best time, after finishing ninth in her debut Olympic Games at Beijing 2008, and fourth in London and Rio. ....
