Wien (OTS) - Heute erkämpfte Zugsführer Magdalena Lobnig im Rudern-Einer Bronze für das Österreichische Nationalteam. Sie dominierte über weite Strecken musste sich schlussendlich aber den Favoritinnen aus Neuseeland Emma Twigg und Russin Hanna Prachazen geschlagen geben. Mit der Drittplatzierung erkämpfte Lobnig schon die vierte Medaille für Österreich bei den Olympischen Spielen in Tokio. Insgesamt gewannen die Sportlerinnen und Sportler des Heeressportzentrums schon drei Medaillen in dieser Olympiade. Die Kärntnerin aus Sankt Veit an der Glan trainiert im Heeresleistungszentrum Faak am See. 2020 erreichte sie bei den Europameisterschaften den zweiten Platz.

TOKYO, July 30 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand dominated rowing regatta at the Tokyo Olympic Games with three gold medals in pocket as the event concluded on Friday.
The Kiwis triumphed in the men's eight, women's single as well as women's pair, plus silver in the women's eight and women's double, to top the medals table.
As for the win in the men's eight, it was New Zealand's first gold in the event since the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.
New Zealand's Emma Twigg won her first Olympic gold medal by clocking a new Olympic best time, after finishing ninth in her debut Olympic Games at Beijing 2008, and fourth in London and Rio.

Emma McKeon has earned another gold medal for the Australian women at the Olympic pool.
McKeon touched first in the 100-meter freestyle with an Olympic-record time of 51.96 seconds, becoming only the second woman to break 52 seconds in the sprint.
Hong Kongâs Siobhan Haughey claimed the silver in 52.27, while Aussie Cate Campbell took the bronze in 52.52. American Abbey Weitzeil was last in the eight-woman field.
The Australians have won four individual womenâs events at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre, in addition to setting a world record in a 4x100 free relay that included both McKeon and Campbell.

Scott won the silver medal in the 200m individual medley and Greenbank won the bronze medal in the men's 200m backstroke.
The 24-year-old already had a gold medal from the men's 4x200m freestyle relay and a silver medal in the individual discipline.
He was in fifth place heading into the medley's final 50m on Friday morning, but he found another gear to power into second place, finishing just 0.28 seconds behind Shun Wang of China.
Scott told the BBC: "It was always going to be tight, it was always going to be exciting.
