Cambridge City Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame to induct 3 new members
CAMBRIDGE, OHIO The Cambridge City Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Committee is pleased to announce the induction of three outstanding individuals to the 2021 class.
The purpose of the organization is to recognize and honor those persons who, through their performance and achievements, reflect credit on Cambridge City Schools, so that present-day students may identify with the past and establish goals for the future.
This year’s inductees are Beverly (Rawlins) Tostenson, class of 1952; John Knapp, class of 1961; and G. Michael Payton, class of 1971.
The inductees will be recognized at halftime of the Cambridge Bobcat Football game, Friday, August 20th. The official induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 21st at 11:30 a.m. at the Cambridge High School Auditoria. Final Ohio budget deal would cut taxes, fund broadband, boost school funding in major overhaul

COLUMBUS, Ohio A final two-year $74 billion state budget bill approved by state lawmakers would boost K-12 funding by hundreds of millions of dollars in what will be a major overhaul in how the state funds its schools.
The budget bill also cuts personal state income taxes by 3%, costing $1.6 billion in all. Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman, a Lima Republican, said he believed it would be the largest single-year state income-tax cut in state history.
Both chambers approved the budget Monday night with bipartisan support. The vote in the House was 82-13 and the vote in the Senate was 32-1. It now heads to Gov. Mike DeWine’s desk for his signature. ....
