An Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for an 18-mile Glassboro-Camden light rail line has been completed for submission to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
The proposal would restore passenger service along an existing Conrail line between Gloucester and Camden counties, both in New Jersey’s Philadelphia suburbs. Diesel light rail vehicles (DLRVs) similar to those running on New Jersey Transit’s River LINE would carry riders between 14 stations (see map below). Transfers would be available at the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden. A transfer to the PATCO (Port Authority Transit Corp.) Speedline would provide ....

Demolition for Inspira-Woodbury? City boards decide


WOODBURY - Economic development experts already recommended Woodbury consider redeveloping a former hospital site and other nearby privately owned properties at Red Bank Avenue and Broad Street for new uses.
Now, City Council has directed its planning and zoning boards to continue investigating whether the Inspira-Woodbury property and several others nearby can be acquired by the city through eminent domain.
Woodbury s council authorized planning and zoning officials to determine in what s it s calling a preliminary investigation whether designating these properties as in need of development matches the city s master plan. 
The resolution is an opportunity to obtain a legal designation of the properties as being in need of redevelopment, according to city administrator Frank Brown. ....
