May 11 Dominique Donette is the new public affairs specialist for the California Hawaii State Conference NAACP(CA/HI NAACP).
She will be the CA/HI NAACP s lead lobbyist and will also support the organization s communications and public relations strategies.
Donette is a Sacramento native and was raised in Oak Park. She recently spoke with The Sacramento Bee to discuss her journey back to her hometown and her work with the NAACP.

California NAACP To Honor Longtime Leader Alice Huffman — The Sacramento Observer

Dr. Alice A. Huffman, immediate past president of the California-Hawaii State Conference of the NAACP, is being honored by the organization she led for more than 20 years.
The organization will commemorate Black History Month by inducting Dr. Huffman during its Ninth Annual Legacy Hall of Fame ceremony. The event will be held virtually on Monday, February 1. A VIP reception is set for 5:30 p.m., with the program to begin at 6:00 p.m.
Dr. Huffman recently stepped down as president of the state NAACP. The tribute event will feature presentations from California’s most formidable and respected leaders, live music and two virtual event receptions. ....
