Friendly’s revives six ‘fan favorite’ meals for limited time

Friendly’s Restaurants will serve up a blast from the past with the return of six “Fan Favorite” meals.
From March 15 to June 6, the 130-restaurant chain, which was founded in Springfield, is bringing back six meals.
“Fan Favorites, an all-star lineup of menu items that were all popular in the past, is our way of thanking our loyal customers who have supported us,” said Craig Erlich, CEO of Friendly’s Restaurants, in a statement. “Our founders started Friendly’s with the promise that the small ice cream shop would be a friendly place for families to enjoy a meal together. Eighty plus years later we are still delivering on that promise. We will be rolling out new crave-able menu items, a loyalty program, curbside ordering and of course fun ice cream flavors.” ....

LONGMEADOW Construction on the $14 million Longmeadow Adult Center project is nearly finished.
After first breaking ground in July 2019, the build should be completed within a month, said Marybeth Bergeron, who chairs the town’s Permanent Town Building Committee and sits on the board of directors for the Longmeadow Council of Aging.
“We can see the light at the end of the tunnel,” said Bergeron.
The project, she says, is about eight years in the making. The biggest challenge in the project was securing funding and finding a site that the town would approve, she said. Several proposals were considered before the Greenwood Park site was settled upon. ....

In the final days of his long life, S. Prestley Blake wanted to talk business and that business was Friendly’s.
He had a telephone conference set with Craig Erlich, the new CEO of the Friendly’s restaurant chain.
Blake was excited to talk about the future of the company he and his brother Curtis founded in 1935, his wife Helen Blake shared in the wake of his death on Feb. 11, at the age of 106. ....
