Deadline to achieve zero-waste target in Lahore has passed

LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company’s (LWMC) deadline to bring the City to zero waste level has passed, but heaps of garbage could be seen on roads.
Sources in the company revealed that specific operations were being done on main roads only to give a clean look to the city whereas internal roads and localities were being ignored.
Sources revealed that the LWMC’s management has also started picking up C&D waste and cow dung from various city areas to show the increase its daily tonnage. Lifting C&D waste (building material waste) and cow dung from the city was not the responsibility of the LWMC and in past whenever its Turkish contractors did so the company imposed heavy fines on them. ....

More Geese Found Dumped and Left to Waste in Minidoka County
ACEQUIA, Idaho (KLIX)-Another group of geese were found dumped and left to waste in Minidoka County recently in the same spot where someone had dumped geese late last year.
According to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, six Canada geese were reportedly dumped near the Minidoka Dam, close to the old Jackson Bridge, sometime on January 15 or January 16. According to Senior Conservation Officer Aaron Adruska, the geese were dumped at the same spot another group geese were dumped in December. “The fact that someone has deliberately dumped Canada geese twice, in the same location is appalling” said Andruska, “this is a blatant case of wasting game, which is very disturbing, especially if this is the same individual or individuals who are responsible.” None of the meat on the animals was taken in either incident. ....

Ps are being forced to bin leftover vaccines rather than give patients second doses or use them on staff, according to reports.
Local NHS leaders are said to have issued the vaccine disposal instructions to doctors organising clinics.
GPs are struggling to book the exact number of appointments to match the doses of the vaccine which needs to kept at -70c, which adds another layer of difficulty.
Dr Robert Morley, the director of professional support at the Birmingham Local Medical Committee said the instructions were being reported by doctors across the country.
He told the Telegraph: This is ridiculous, bordering on the criminal, to actually be wasting vaccines when you have the worst global healthcare crisis for a century. ....
