Family files lawsuit against Conroe PD
CONROE – The family of a man who committed suicide after they say he was unjustly arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor is now suing the Conroe Police Department.
Brian Petersen, 39, took his life a few days after being released from the Montgomery County Jail in August 2019.
In a five-page suicide note, released by family attorney Randall Kallinen, Petersen, a Conroe ISD teacher, defended himself and said the accusations would ruin his career and his life.

CONROE, Texas — Conroe Police on Wednesday released the autopsy results for an 11-year-old boy who died Feb. 16 during the winter storm.
Police say Christian Pavon died of carbon monoxide poisoning. His family believed he died of hypothermia after their mobile home lost power.
Christian’s family is suing ERCOT and Entergy for $100 million, alleging gross negligence by the power grid operator and the electricity provider, saying it led to Christian’s death.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - The Okert family in The Woodlands is urging everyone to please help them find their teenage son.
He walked away from their home two months ago and hasn't been seen since then. They are desperate to find out where he is and make sure he's OK.

"I came home around 3:20 that day, knocked on his door. He's supposed to go to work and he wouldn't answer, so I went around and the window was open, and he was gone. Didn't show up for work, and that was it. That was the last we heard of him," says Tristan’s mom, Amanda.

The family of an 11-year-old Texas boy who died last week after a record-breaking deep freeze is suing the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and Entergy Texas for $100 million.
Cristian Pineda died of hypothermia, just one day after he saw snow for the first time in his life, according to his attorney and the lawsuit filed over the weekend in Jefferson County District Court.
