ICE Deported Migrant Parents Without Giving Them A Chance To Take Their Kids, Government Investigators Say

Hundreds of migrant parents were deported without the option of taking their children back with them, a government investigation found.
“[In] some cases, parents told ICE officers they wanted their children to accompany them back to their home country — but ICE nevertheless removed the parents without reunifying them, leaving their children in the United States,” according to the report.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not have policies in place for recording or honoring the decision of migrant parents facing removal regarding reunification with their children. ....

More than 4,500 migrant children mostly teenage boys in Fort Bliss, Texas, are being held in enormous tents in unsanitary “filthy” conditions according to an investigation conducted by
“If you took a poll, probably about 98 percent of the federal workers here would say it’s appalling,” a federal employee detailed to the facility told

Those federal employees have neither the skills nor the training to care for so many kids. Being Virginians, we often date our history from 1607, the founding of Jamestown.
There are those, such as The New York Times, who believe it should be dated from 1619, when the first Africans arrived — involuntarily. That has stirred up much controversy but both of those dates overlook another date, one that we weren’t taught in school.

New Delhi, May 24 (IANS) The Supreme Court on Monday said its main concern is that benefits which are meant for migrant workers must reach them and stressed the process of their registration is woefully slow. The top court said the Centre and state governments must expedite registration of migrant workers and also those working in the unorganised sectors.
