Child makes £10k for Hornchurch charity with Captain Tom 100

Freya completing her fourth Day of 100 steps for the Captain Tom 100 challenge. The three-year-old has now raised £10,187.17 for Hornchurch charity First Step.

A three-year-old girl with cerebral palsy has raised more than £10,000 for charity after taking on the Captain Tom 100 challenge.
Freya - whose mum doesn t wish to reveal her surname - was diagnosed with the condition at eight months old, and now attends First Step in Hornchurch where she works with early years leader Debbie Bennett.
Mum Emily signed Freya up for the challenge to give back to the facility, which she describes as a Godsend . ....

Three-year-old Freya is set to take on the Sir Captain Tom 100 Challenge for Hornchurch charity First Step.

A three-year-old girl with cerebral palsy is set to take on the Captain Tom 100 Challenge for a Hornchurch charity.
Scheduled for the upcoming bank holiday - on what would have been
Captain Sir Tom Moore s 101st birthday - three-year-old Freya will walk 100 steps in her walking frame each day of the long weekend.
All proceeds raised will go to Tangmere Crescent charity First Step, which has helped Havering children with various specialist needs since 1988. ....

What happened in 2020 in Havering | Romford Recorder


A woman in her sixties became the first person in Havering to die of Covid-19. Queen’s Hospital said she had suffered significant other health conditions.
But as the country went into lockdown , the crisis started to bring out the best in our communities. Volunteers teamed up to help those in need through Mutual Aid groups, and restaurants forced to close delivered food instead to NHS workers.

A plea was made to nail bars, beauty salons and tattoo artists to donate their protective equipment for NHS staff after the coronavirus outbreak created a national shortage. Havering Council called on the businesses to either donate masks and gloves or sell them at cost price.  ....

world-renowned Cemetery Circuit event in Whanganui dished up
another scorcher on Boxing Day.

post-Christmas affair, this year celebrating its 70th
