Art House Productions has announced casting for the Virtual INKubator New Play Festival, now underway through Wednesday, May 19 online via Zoom.
The festival will feature playwrights from the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 cohorts, including Kev Berry, Andrea Coleman, Izzi DâEsposito, Madeline Dennis-Yates, Nathaniel Foster, Alyssa Haddad, Aja Nisenson, SMJ, Christopher-Rashee Stevenson, Leila Teitelman, and Colin Waitt. All public readings are free for audiences and begin at 7:00pm EST. Audiences who attend the festival will also have the opportunity to participate in conversations with the writers, directors, and actors after each performance. ....

On the morning of July 30, 1916, one of the largest artificial non-nuclear explosions took place in Jersey City when German saboteurs destroyed a U.S. munitions depot on Black Tom Island.
Playwright Martin Casella’s “Black Tom Island,” based on the actual incident and seen through the lens of a fictionalized Slovak immigrant and his wife, who may or may not have been involved in the attack, has now been adapted into a radio play by Art House Productions and is available for download. ....

This free audio play is available for download on www.arthouseproductions.org and www.youtube.com/arthouseproductions. A free virtual panel discussion about the actual event featuring historians and the play’s creative team will take place on Sunday, February 7 at 3:00pm EST on Zoom.
