The Chicago Seven were countercultural heroes in the 1960s. They thumbed their noses through one of the country’s most notorious political trials, taunting the judge and making a mockery of the proceedings with flippant courtroom pranks. Aaron Sorkin wrote and directed a movie about them last year, “The Trial of the Chicago 7,” which will probably win a few Oscars.

Geraldo Rivera Roasted For Slamming Trump, Calling President 'Crazy'

Geraldo Rivera Roasted For Slamming Trump, Calling President ‘Crazy’

Geraldo Rivera is under fire after criticizing Trump over inciting the riot at the Capitol. Although plenty of people have called out Trump for encouraging protestors to head to the Capitol last week, Riviera has been a loyal supporter of the president for the majority of his time in office.
However, on Tuesday night, Rivera began condemning Trump’s behavior and agreeing with members of Congress, like Liz Cheney, who have been calling for Trump’s impeachment.
“A loyal friend, hounded without mercy by Democrats intent on destroying him from Day 1. Then he lost the election. It made him crazy or revealed a dysfunction I had refused to see. He then unleashed a mob to make war on their own government. 5 to their doom. @LizCheney is right,” Rivera wrote.

Remove Trump? Let's Ask Honest Abe

Jan. 12, 2021 6:27 pm ET
Whenever I am perplexed about an important political issue, I turn for guidance to the greatest statesman in American history. “In this and like communities,” Abraham Lincoln said during a debate with Stephen Douglas, “public sentiment is everything. With public sentiment, nothing can fail; without it nothing can succeed.”
Judged against this standard, can impeaching President Trump and removing him from office succeed? A Quinnipiac University survey released on Monday suggests that it cannot.
Yes, 52% of Americans favor removing President Trump from office, compared with 45% who oppose it. But the partisan divisions are deep. While 89% of Democrats support this course, 87% of Republicans oppose it, and independents are split.
